John P. Schuster began coaching in 1988, helping to pioneer the conversation-based development processes that we now know as coaching. He serves serves as a senior faculty member of the executive coaching certification programs at Columbia University and The Hudson Institute of Coaching. He, Jill Carpenter and Patricia Kane co-authored two books on open-book management and they created the financial simulation now owned by GRITT that helps employees become more business-savvy.

He has helped private, public and non-profit enterprises on many fronts, from strategic planning to leadership development, to engaging the workforce. John connects soft people skills with hard business results, like all open-book management processes should. He is a resource to churches, and has four grandchildren, plays some guitar and gardens.
